Azheekal Beach
Azheekal is situated at a distance of 10 kms from karunagappally. This is near to Amrithanandamayi Madom where a number of devotees coming day by day. This famous coastal area is located in Kollam district. In ancient days water way transportation from Kollam to Alleppey connects through azheekal port. The main source of living for the majority of people is fishing. There are a number of resorts and home stays available. The scenic beauty of beach can be viewed best during sun set and is of much importance.

Vallikkavu . Amritapuri
"Vallikavu is a small strip of land between the Arabian Sea and Kerala's famous backwaters".You will discover a cross section of the cosmopolitan culture in Vallikkavu.Located 8 kms from Karunagappally and 4 kms from Oachira.Amritapuri the residence and headquarters of Mata Amritanandamayi is located in vallikkvu. It is also the International Headquarters of Mata Amritanandamayi Math. Amritapuri Ashram is easily accessible by road and rail. Kovalam Beach
Kovalam is an internationally renowned beach with three adjacent crescent beaches. It has been a favourite haunt of tourists, especially Europeans, since the 1930s. A massive rocky promontory on the beach has created a beautiful bay of calm waters ideal for sea bathing.
The leisure options at this beach are plenty and diverse. Sunbathing, swimming, herbal body toning massages, special cultural programmes and catamaran cruising are some of them. The tropical sun acts so fast that one can see the faint blush of coppery tan on the skin in a matter of minutes. Life on the beach begins late in the day and carries on well into the night. The beach complex includes a string of budget cottages, Ayurvedic health resorts, convention facilities, shopping zones, swimming pools, Yoga and Ayurvedic massage centres.
Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of Kerala, is just 16 km away from Kovalam and getting there is no hassle. But if you are on holiday it is better to stay in Kovalam and visit the city.
The City of Thiruvananthapuram has interesting places to see like the Napier Museum, the Sri Chitra Art Gallery, the Padmanabhaswamy Temple, Ponmudi hill station etc. SMSM Institute, a State owned handicrafts emporium, is the ideal place to pick up ethnic curios and other articles.
Best time to visit: September to March, though it is an all-year-round destination.

Ochira Parabrahma Temple
Oachira Temple is an ancient temple located in Oachira in Kollam district.A striking feature of this temple is that like the traditional temples, which have definitive structural layout and mode of worship, the temple at Ochira does not have a proper structure or an idol for the visitors to worship. The whole concept of worship revolves around the Parabrahmam or the universal consciousness. This unique temple setting itself is a big attraction to hundreds of visitors coming to the temple everyday, irrespective religious faith.
The temple is also known as Dakshina Kashi and a unique offering to the temple is in the form of bulls. Another interesting aspect in connection with the temple is the annual festival called Ochira Kali, where men; both young and old step into waterlogged paddy fields and indulge in mock fights, involving physical skills of the participants.

Krishnapuram Palace is a palace and museum located in Kayamkulam. Krishnapuram Palace was constructed the reign of Marthanda Varma (1729-58), the king of east while Travancore. This Palace is also noted for 'Gajendra Moksham', the largest single panel of mural painting found in Kerala.

Sree padmanabhaswamy temple
Sri Padmanabha Swamy temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu located in Thiruvananthapuram,Kerala India. The temple is a blend of the Kerala and Dravidian style of architecture. The temple is one of the 108 holy shrines of Lord Vishnu known as Divyadesam. The temple made headlines after a Supreme Court-appointed committee started inventory assessment of its secret vaults after prolonged litigation between a complainant and the royal family.A huge cache of gold, precious stones, jewellery, rare coins and idols was discovered in six underground cellars of the temple. The rough estimate of the value of the treasure was around .`1 lakh crore making it probably the richest temple in India.

Confirmed: Microsoft to Kill Windows Live Messenger, Replace It with Skype
Microsoft has finally confirmed that it would retire Windows Live Messenger in the first quarter of 2013, so all those who are currently using this app will have no other choice than to migrate to Skype.
"By updating to Skype, Messenger users can instant message and video call their Messenger friends,” the Skype team said in a blog post.
